Causes of gear shift

- Damaged Cushion Plate [Gear Shift]

 Causes

Sudden Change of a Gear While Driving

Abruptly shifting gears, such as from 5th to 3rd or 2nd, can cause stress on the cushion plate, leading to damage.

This can affect the smoothness of gear changes and overall drivetrain performance.

Poor Arrangement of an Engine Gearbox

Misalignment or improper positioning of the gearbox can create uneven pressure on the cushion plate,

resulting in wear and potential failure.

Damaged Pilot Bearing

A damaged pilot bearing can cause misalignment between the engine and transmission,

putting extra stress on the cushion plate.

Driving Overloaded

Carrying loads beyond the vehicle’s capacity increases pressure on the clutch system,

leading to potential damage to the cushion plate.

Excessive Use of an Engine Brake

Overuse of engine braking can put additional strain on the cushion plate,

accelerating wear and tear.

 Maintenance & Caution

Replace the Clutch
If the cushion plate is damaged, replacing the clutch system can restore proper function and ensure smooth gear shifts.

Rearrange the Engine Gearbox
Ensuring correct alignment and positioning of the gearbox helps to maintain the health of the cushion plate and other clutch components.
